Today, we're taking a behind-the-scenes journey with SK Security, one of Kansas City's leading security companies. I had the privilege of sitting down with Sidney Kile, the CEO and founder of SK Security, to dive into the company's backstory, its strategies for success, and its vision for the future.

Can you share a bit about the backstory of your company and how you got into security staffing?

SK Security was established in 2018 by Sidney Kile, driven by a lifelong aspiration to serve in law enforcement and make a positive difference in the community. Recognizing the potential to contribute more effectively, in 2019, I made the pivotal decision to channel my passion into founding a security company instead of pursuing a career as a police officer.

SK Security is one of the top security companies in the Kansas City metro area; what do you think sets you apart from others?

One of the biggest challenges for security staffing companies is finding and retaining top talent. How does your company approach this challenge, and what strategies have you found most effective in attracting and keeping skilled security professionals?

With the rise of technology and its integration into security solutions, how has your company adapted to these changes? Are there any particular technological advancements that you believe will significantly impact the security staffing landscape in the coming years?

SK Security takes pride at being an industry leader by utilizing the best equipment available to our employees. We have implemented the use of drones, and special AI software to assist us in safeguarding our clients' properties. Additionally, we are constantly monitoring the new technology offered in the security industry. We have already assessed the possibility of adding robots to our tool book, but have waited as we believe it still needs a few years to work out all of bugs associated with the platforms available. 

As the demand for security services evolves, how does your company stay agile and responsive to the changing needs of clients? Are there any specific strategies you employ to ensure client satisfaction?

Yes, we utilize top-notch technology such as Officer Reports, Samsara, and Belfry to keep everything transparent for our clients to see. We have also implemented a team that is very easy to get ahold of incase of any mishaps. 

Training and professional development are integral to maintaining a high standard of security services. Can you tell us about the training programs or initiatives your company offers to ensure that security personnel are well-equipped to handle diverse threats and scenarios?

 All officers are trained in situation de-escalation, as most problems can be solved with our appearance alone, and help provide solutions that solves the problem instead of making it worse. One great innovative example of this in action is our use of support bags that our officers carry in the back of vehicles during the winter. The most common call we get from October to March is kicking the homeless out of areas where they are not allowed to be. Most times these people have no malicious intent, they are just trying to stay warm. While we can't allow them to stay where they are trespassing on our client's property, we are able to kick them out, but also provide them with the support bag that usually consists of a coat, hat, gloves, hand warmers, and blankets. 

Other training includes the use of all tool sand items they are licensed to carry out in the field.
